  • Is it reduced if I have a TEFL already?
    For this program, having a pre-existing TEFL certification does not qualify for a reduction in fees. This internship is directly affiliated with North Bangkok University, and it is crucial that all participants undergo the specially designed 4-week in-person course. This requirement ensures that everyone is trained uniformly to meet the high standards expected by the university and the local schools. By completing this course, you demonstrate your capability to achieve a level of excellence necessary for a successful internship in this prestigious program.   • Why do I pay a program fee?

    Once you have been accepted into our program, we will provide you with a payment link to secure your spot. You have the option to pay the full amount at once or divide the fee into three equal installments, spread over several months for your convenience.
  • Where does the program fee go?
    The £2000 program fee is distributed across several key components of the program. A significant part of the fee is used for TEFL training and accommodation in Thailand for the duration of the four-week course. Smaller amounts are allocated to administrative expenses incurred by TFT and our local partner, as well as to managing the internship process and organizing cultural activities. Additionally, the fee includes ongoing support throughout the entire experience.
  • What is the price beat guarantee all about?
    TFT is committed to delivering top-notch service at the most competitive price. We're confident our program fees are the lowest you'll find, but if you discover a cheaper rate—even with a discount on our fees from another company—let us know and we'll beat it every time. No questions asked.
  • I don't have any experience can I still apply?
    Absolutely! Most of your fellow program participants will also be new to this, just like you. We all understand that you're starting from scratch, and we'll place you in a position that's perfectly suited for beginners. Think of this entire experience as a personal growth journey with no pressure to be flawless from the start. As long as you're putting in your best effort, that’s all we ask for!
  • What qualifications do I need to teach English in Thailand through your program?
    To qualify for our program, you must be a graduate from an accredited university. While a TEFL certification isn’t mandatory, it’s highly recommended to enhance your teaching skills and prospects. You can apply for this program whilst you're still in university and head out after. For example, if you want to come on our October fly out, you should apply earlier in the year whilst you're completing your final year of university.
  • Is there an age requirement?
    There is an upper age limit of 55 due to work visa policies within Thailand. As long as you're under 55, you're good to go!
  • Do I need to be a native English speaker to apply?
    Native English speakers are preferred; however, non-native speakers with fluent English proficiency and a strong educational background are also encouraged to apply.
  • What types of schools will I be teaching in?
    We only work with government funded public schools. You will be placed in one public school for the duration of your contract.
  • What happens when I land in Thailand?
    Our local academic partners will greet you with open arms for training and orientation right in the heart of Bangkok. This is your chance to settle in comfortably, receive some extra teacher training, and immerse yourself in Thai culture. Plus, you'll finally meet the rest of the TFT family face-to-face, the same folks you've been chatting with online! It's a fantastic opportunity to learn loads and feel completely at home in your new surroundings. From there, we'll help you and the other grads transition smoothly to your respective teaching locations.
  • What is the duration of the teaching contract?
    The contract lasts for 4.5 months, aligned with the Thai academic semester. Around 70% of applicants renew their contracts for additional semester and this is something the team at TFT will assist you with. You could even change placement location for your second semester to see more of Thailand!
  • How many teaching hours will I have each week?
    You will teach around 20 hours per week, plus additional hours for office duties, Monday through Friday. This is classed as a full time position.
  • Are there different types of teaching positions available?
    Absolutely! Whether you’re just starting out or you’re looking to level up, we have a spot just for you. Choose from a variety of positions that best suit your skills and growth aspirations. 80% of the groups who come with TFT are brand new to teaching, so it is totally fine if you don't have any experience as it is not a requirement for the entry-level positions.
  • Can I choose the location where I want to teach?
    TFT goes through an extensive placement preference process with the whole group. You can express interest in to the type of environment you'd like to be in, for example: Small or medium town or large city preferences are given. You'll be asked many other questions about the experience you're looking for and TFT will recommend something that we believe fits best with you. You'll always be placed in the same school with others from TFT no matter which region you go to.
  • Will I be employed by TFT?
    No, you won't be employed by us; you'll be hired directly by your employer in Thailand. This direct connection means clearer terms and a smoother experience for you. Don’t worry, though - we’re still here to help with any questions about your contract or anything else you need!
  • Are accommodations included as part of the employment package?
    You will receive a monthly housing allowance in the small to medium size placements and this is set up for you before arrival. Meaning you do not need to do any house hunting at all and it is all taken care of. In bigger cities such as Bangkok, the housing is not included and you will have to house hunt during your first couple of weeks with assistance of a local coordinator from your school.
  • How much will I be paid?
    Small to medium size town placements offer a salaries starting at 31,000 THB per month plus a housing allowance (no rent to pay!) You can expect to earn upwards of 35,000 THB per month in bigger cities but the cost of living is of course higher and accommodation cost is not included. Good to know: 70% of applicants choose a smaller town in their first semester and move to a bigger city if they decide to stay longer.
  • Will I get a work visa?
    Yes, we will help assist you and the school in getting all of your paperwork sorted before arrival. You will receive a Thai teachers licence granted by the Ministry of Education in Thailand, a work permit and work visa all before your departure date.
  • What post-departure support do you provide?
    Once you land, our local team becomes your family away from home. Whether you need help settling in or someone to share a cup of Thai tea with, we’re just a call away. We will be in touch with you the whole way through your placement. You'll have additional support from your local Thai colleagues at school and coordinators too!
  • Who do I get support from?
    The team here at TFT will be with you every step of the way! We've all taught abroad before and have help 100s of graduates go abroad every year. You'll also receive additional support from local Thai coordinators and your colleagues in your school.
  • What is the TEFL course like you offer?
    Our TEFL course recently won 3 awards for Support, Value & Instruction! It is a 120 Hour Advanced Course which is fully accredited and internationally recognised! You can complete it on our online platform in the lead up to heading out to Thailand. It is fully self paced, leaving you enough freedom to chip away at it over a few months.

    Absolutely! We gladly accommodate couples and friends in our program, ensuring that we can place you together in the same town or school in Thailand for your placement. For larger groups, please note that we might need to distribute members across different schools, as it's possible that one location may not have enough positions available for everyone. However, you will still participate in orientation together.

  • Why is the TEFL course in-person?
    The in-person TEFL course is essential because, as an internship designed for non-degree holders, local authorities, schools, and our Thai partners must verify that you've received training of a high standard. Our partner in Thailand has a facility in the stunning Hua Hin where you will receive top-notch training and mentorship. This hands-on approach ensures you are fully prepared and confident to step into the classroom, equipped with the skills and support needed to succeed in your teaching role.
  • How long after I submit the application will I hear back?
    Once you've submitted the form above, you'll hear back from us within a few days. We will reach with an acceptance email at which point you'll be able to pay the first instalment of the program fee and book a welcome call with one of our coordinators.
  • Where will I live during the placement?
    The local team TFT hires will assist you in helping you view apartments in your first week which will be close by to your school. Typically it will be a small one bedroom, traditional japanese apartment. Costs range from £300-400 per month for something quite small and rises for bigger more modern apartments. You will have full housing assistance and don't need to do any house hunting on your own.

  • What's a working holiday visa in Japan?
    This visa facilitates cultural exchange by allowing young people to explore Japan while working and there a requirements to be eligible including: 1. Applicants must be between 20-30 years old. You must be 20 at time of application not arrival. 2. Only citizens from countries with reciprocal agreements with Japan are eligible. 3. Must demonstrate sufficient initial funds, usually about £3000, to cover early expenses and return travel. 4. A medical certificate may be required to confirm good health. 5. The primary reason for the stay must be for a holiday, with work being secondary. 6. This visa can only be granted once in a person's lifetime. If you've done it before, you will not be able to get it again. 7. Valid for up to one year, depending on nationality. 8. Work is allowed to supplement travel funds but is restricted in certain sectors. 9. Freely leave and re-enter Japan during the visa validity. 10.   • Where will I be placed?
    We work with school partners nationwide and the team will talk to you about your preferences. Typically the locations are in surrounding areas of major cities such Tokyo, Osaka & Kyoto!
  • Why is a drivers licence preferred?
    Most of the school placements are regional and out of the way of big cities. The schools will help pay for a rental car for you for the duration to get to and from school and to use in your spare time! You could still be considered without a licence but it will work on a case by case basis and can't be guaranteed
  • How do I pay the program fee?
